Art Deco Hotel Montana, Lucerne - Switzerland

A landmark hotel in the heart of Switzerland that sits high above the picturesque city of Lucerne.

In a first phase our project involved the complete renovation of 26 double and single rooms, including five junior suites. The renovated rooms were reopened in summer 2022 and are part of the new "Deluxe" room category.

Our starting point was to create an all-encompassing vision for this landmark hotel. Inspired by turn of the century style and historically relevant design elements, our interior vision celebrates the beauty of the old. Reminiscent of the bohemian lifestyle, balancing classical beauty with a touch of modern design, our design intends to not feel contrived, but utterly fresh, sophisticated and timeless.

The rooms were designed in soft pinks, greens and a touch of blue, reflecting the colors of the lake. In addition, they pick up the colors of the facade and refer to the pastel colors of the turn of the century. This color combination was also applied to the furniture and the bathrooms.

The mosaic floors reminiscent of historical tile floors were reinterpret in a contemporary way by our office and produced by the Italian manufacturer Bisazza. Coordinated with the entire color concept, the geometric patterns and soft pastel tones play off on historical patterns found in the hotel.

On the walls, we opted for white glazed tiles to accentuate the floor and create a beautiful canvas for the vanity.

After a successful renovation of 26 double and single rooms and five junior suites in 2022, we will continue our work with the public areas of the hotel (reception area, restaurant, bar, smokers lounge and terrace).
